AT HOME AND ABROAD:
Watercolor Landscapes and Cityscapes of eastern Pennsylvania and Europe
Gene's paintings have been described as "peaceful and tranquil, even soothing." The watercolors, at once intellectual in approach and lyrical in quality, are reminders of the quiet beauty around us.
Gene lived in Europe for six years and returns regularly to Germany, England and France---always with his watercolor kit. Gene, who has dual French and American citizenship, is as much at home there as he is in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he has maintained a studio since 1971.
His "At Home" works include en plein air paintings and studio pieces of various scenes of Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley of eastern Pennsylvania.
